Just mounted an old SD card into my phone and found a tonne of old projects that have been sold on or lost etc, thought I’d share!
Custom chapter space marines! Most of these have been repainted, but I still think these guys are cool!
Modern British Army Imperial Guard!
Nothing stands before the Challenger II with extra rockets!
Especially with space marine support!
An old WIP of German camo.
A mix match of various manufacturers all painted in German camo patterns.
“Whenever one of us falls, 10 more will take his place!”
That’s all for now, don’t want to spam out my own blog! What are your thoughts on these golden oldies? Wish I had more pics of whole forces! But after my old phone died (may she rest in peace) I lost so much good content! Oh well, at least these survived the purge!
Well, I think I might need some viewer input here, I’m STILL waiting for my paints to be dispatched so I can finish my commission Orkz, I’m running out of Black Templars to do and scratching my head at what my next project should be… I have an abundance of space marine parts, plenty of “warzone” imperial and Bauhaus spares, tonnes of perry miniatures medieval spares, and chaos bits, imperial guard bits, whfb chaos bits, and I don’t know what to do with them!
Then it hit me! I want anyone who reads this to post a comment on a totally original idea, be it a converted miniature, a piece of scenery, a diorama or anything, and I’ll pick whichever one takes my fancy and is within my means to do, but if I can do it, I will!
So let’s hear some ideas, there’s no such thing as too crazy! And I’d love to make something totally unique!
Well I have finalized more knights! All except bases, not sure if I want rural or urban bases yet…
The one on the left is just standard Tactical Marine, standard decals, just sword and shield added here, on the right, anvil industries resin legs, shoulder pads and head.
The shield designs are actually used designs by the knights Templar, or at least I hope so! The internet told me they were!
I have tried to individualize each and every marine, some have different pads or helms or legs, all have individual heraldry on parts of their bodies (like the checkered pattern on the right hand marines shoulder and shield), I have done this as this was a common practise of real Templar Knights, maybe the militia or levies would have been uniformed(ish) but the knights themselves were very proud, and would have been different from one another, I like this idea so my knights will be individual also.
The Emperor Protects!
Well, like most blogs taking their first few steps into the endless expanse of the internet, I’m struggling to get views or publicity. Blog Networks are great but most have silly requirements, especially in the wargaming sector! Must be X old, must be SOLELY W40k, or WHFB, some for specific armies even! And anyone who has viewed my own blog must have noticed I’m a fairly widespread hobbyist with wargames, multiple manufacturers, multiple armies, tonnes of conversions! Some home projects, some commissions etc etc.
Well I stumbled across this new blog roll, “talk wargaming” (linked on sidebar) and just thought I’d thank them, finally! A “wargaming” network. A massive compendium of work from like minded and indeed open minded individuals! Now by no means am I “dissing” any other networks, indeed I’m part of a fair few myself, but other then taleofpainters (who were also very straightforward and helpful) I’m still pending because I’m either not old enough or because my content is largely irrelevant to their precise wants. Needless to say I have removed a lot of network banners, they were essentially spamming my sidebar and not even linking me to anything!
So to sum up, if your starting a blog or planning too, Talk Wargaming is a great starting network, as are taleofpainters and BoLS, and hopefully I will find a few more helpful blog rolls, perhaps you who view this could help? Let’s give credit where credit is due!
Finished another Templar Knight, this one is my favorite mini so far, so much conversion that has worked so seamlessly!
This guy is packed up with pouches and accessories to personalize him, converted chaos backpack, WHFB chaos arms, Mantic Basilean Sword, Victrix Roman Shield, everything is hand painted, I’m totally in love with this mini!
For the Emperor!
Finally got around to finishing off one of my Templar Crusaders.
Everything on this guy is hand painted, he has parts from 4 totally different model ranges, Legs and Head from Anvil Studios, Body, Arms, Weapon and backpack from Standard Space Marine set, Sword from Mantic Basileans and Shield from Victrix Romans box set. And yet they all tie in so well together! In my opinion, this is how the Black Templars are supposed to look!
Finished! Except bases, but I’m still trying to decide whether to base them or make a diorama for them…
There are still a few pairs of feet to paint, but I’ll get them done as their added to whatever I’m going to stick them on.
So some feedback on these guys is welcome, anything that could be done better etc, I was originally planning to use GW imperial guard arms and weapons for these guys but after playing around for a bit they just looks silly, all that gritty armor with nice round shoulder pads, and unfortunately no amount of greenstuff makes heroic scale arms fit with true scale arms so I couldn’t just chop the shoulder pads off either.
But still, feedback would be lovely! Let me know if you want to see more of this sort of stuff, maybe I could try an NCR patrol next!
